Michael Mendizza - The Erosion of Democracy
Propaganda has been around as long as politicians. Propaganda refers to deliberately false or misleading information that supports the political interests of those in power. Propagandist seeks to change the way people understand an issue, to change their actions and expectations in ways that are desirable to the group in power. Propaganda fills people's heads with false information and is often used with censorship, which is the deliberate act of preventing people from knowing true information. What sets propaganda apart from other forms of advocacy is the willingness of its users to change people's understanding through deception and confusion, rather than persuasion and understanding.
